......and another one

Given the fact that most of the people that read this are females I try to fight the urge to write about anything sports related. However this story hits close to home because Burress is responsible for the greatest moment in my sports fan life. I cried like a bitch that night, but that's a tale for another time. Again, for those of you whose address is 12 under the rock lane, Plaxico Burress (yeah I know, I wanna slap his parents too.) former wide receiver for the NY Giants was arrested last year after he shot himself with his handgun while at a New York night club. Before I continue I'd like to point out that not all football players are that stupid, just most of them. He was just indited yesterday on multiple counts of criminal possession of an illegal firearm and reckless endangerment.

Now while I do agree that carrying a loaded gun, safety off, into a night club is reckless and pretty damn stupid. I suppose he wanted a chick to feel it while she was grinding on him. My problem is the criminal possession of and illegal firearm. Plaxico bought the gun legally in Florida and has a gun license in that state. So how was he supposed to know that bringing across state lines is not allowed? He obvious isn't that damn bright. Also why is it criminal possession? He had know intentions of using the gun it seemed so where is the criminal intent?

Plaxico is being "made an example of" because he is a professional athlete.Seems like ever since Kobe got off they been trying to throw the book at everyone they get a chance to.Just like Micheal Vick before him. If he was Plaxico Burress the barber with the crazy name and not Plaxico Buress the football player with the crazy name this would have been a non issue. He would have received a slap on the wrist and send on his way. He could get up to 15 years in prison behind these charges, does that seem fair? Especially when he bought the gun legally in the state he lives in? I believe that if you did something illegal your ass needs to pay for it but when its not fair that he has to deal with the harsher charges because he's an pro athlete. Isn't that the same as treating someone different cause they're black? Think about it.

  1. I FEEL WHAT YOUR SAYING, 1 ISSUE YOU CAN'T CROSS STATE LINES WITH A CONCEALABLE WEAPON (HANDGUN OR PISTOL.) A SHOTGUN OR RIFLE FOR HUNTING SOME HOW THAT IS LEGAL. PLAX SHOULD HAVE SIMPLY SAID HE WAS BEING THREATENED OR HAD BEEN VICTIMIZED BEFORE IN NEW YORK. THE GUN IS LEGAL SO HOPEFULLY THERE IS A STIPULATION THAT WILL SAVE HIM......MONEY.
IF T.I. AIN'T KNOW SNITCH GOT 1 YEAR THERE IS NO WAY PLAX IS GETTING 15.

  2. The problem is this: even though he did buy it legally, according to my understanding his gun license expired. Are they trying to make an example of him? Absolutely. Why the DA wanted him to go to jail for at least 3 yrs in the plea deal? Makes no sense. Didn't he embarrass himself enough by shooting HIMSELF? I mean this is ridiculous. The only person's welfare he endangered was his own. But see this just goes to show that stupid can get you thrown in jail. At most he deserves community service. Maybe now our athletes will catch a clue. Hopefully. Especially the black ones.

By the way I was watching that game, saw that catch, and was hoarse for 3 days after cuz I screamed so much.

  3. lmao he's such a muscle head to do such a thing....and of course their making an example out of him, people with money think they can get away with anything. not a big football fan to support him but he's has some pretty lame excuses for his defense so of course he should do some type of time if for anything at all #1 should be being dumb enough to not having the safety on and shooting him self lmao
