I have a confession; I had the mean case of blogger's block this week. Between the lack of sleep, the constant stream of bullshit that is my life and the NCAA tourney, ya boy was at a loss as to what the hell I was going to write about next. Enter "NT" the world's greatest(and at times the worst) website. As I browsed through the topics being discussed I came across a disgruntled NT member, presumably of a race other than black, Asking the question; "What is it about""African American"" males that females love?"Upon reading my first response was to laugh and call him a hater, followed by asking my self why the hell he put African American in parenthesis? Despite all that, its a valid question. The majority of the inter-racial couples I see in NY are black men with whatever flavor female they choose. Much to the disgust of on looking black women. So do black men really have "something" that makes other races love us?(snickers) If not, where do people get this idea from? Let's examine the main 3 reasons.
1. The Media- The number one reason. What are the only types of black men that are shown on television? The star athlete, The Rapper, The Gang Banger, The Sex symbol actor, and most recently, The President. These people make up only a fraction of the the black male population but if you've never been exposed to black men you would think that we are all this way. What woman wouldn't want an MJ, Denzel, Jay-Z or Obama?
2.The Pipe- Sorry non-black guys, its the truth. Black pipe is the Mercedes, the Cuban Cigar of pipes. Every woman has heard about it and wants to see if the myth is true. It is, but then again I can only speak for myself.
3.Parents- "Racism still alive they just be concealin it" The more generations you go back, the more negative the opinions of blacks. That means that if a young woman is attracted to a black guy chances are they're parents or grandparents don't like us very much. You know how daughters love to piss of their parents.
Agree? Disagree? Other reasons? lets here em.
Lmao the "the pipe" that is a good reason
ReplyDeleteAny way, at the risk of oversimplifying, how about a brother meets a woman, they hit it off, and they start dating. Just so happens he’s black and she’s not. It’s hard enough trying to find someone to love. Why complicate it with race, money, etc.
I will admit, it took me quite some time to understand that concept and it will take others that same amount of time.
I think the attraction comes from all the things you stated above
ReplyDelete1)Black men are the forbidden fruit
2)Look how much attention and emotion comes with this simple choice, outrage, shock;disgust
as well as jealously;possessiveness.
3)The Mandingo myth that somehow still lives and breathes
4)Women talk and people always want to check to see if the grass is greener on the other side.
5)Black men are considered tougher, the whole bad boy label still lives in breathes.
6)A lot of black men possess a unique swagger different then other men therefore they are the standard of cool and sexy and everyone else tried to simple mimic what they see. lol that's my personal opinion
I mean shit, aftter Sylvia B and Blessed - what more really needs to be said? Those were rather on point comments.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that bothers me is when you see the brutha with his other and she give you a smug look like, I have what you want! Ummm nope. I've seen so many corporate white women with pieceashit rough necks and wonder, that's the best black man you could find to pose off with? Keep him.
At this point one we all see why there's the attraction for the black man, now blog on why some black men get nasty when they see a black woman on the arm of a non-brutha.
